Zynga Unveils 3 New Games, Launches ‘Mafia Wars 2′ On Google+
At the Zynga Unleashed event — held at Zynga‘s new San Francisco headquarters Tuesday — the social gaming company offered a sneak peek at a string of upcoming games and announced that “Mafia Wars 2,” which launched on Facebook Monday, is now available to play on Google+.
Zynga revealed details of a new franchise in its social gaming portfolio called “Zynga Casino.” The franchise includes “Zynga Poker,” as well as a new title, “Zynga Bingo.” The latter is the first game to be developed by Zynga’s New York studio and you will be able to use your chips across the suite of “Zynga Casino” games. Zynga will make it easy for you to find your friends while they’re playing “Zynga Bingo” or “Zynga Poker,” no matter which virtual table they’re sitting at. “Zynga Bingo” will be launched soon.
“Hidden Chronicles” will mark the debut of a new genre for Zynga — hidden object games. The social scavenger hunt game will challenge your memory and skill as you engage in hidden object play, tackle puzzles and explore Ramsey Manor, which is full of characters who ask for your help to uncover a well-kept secret.
“Hidden Chronicles” features thousands of hidden items, while you’ll be able to build and customize Ramsey Manor to your liking. You’ll have the option of challenging your friends to see who can grab the highest score in a particular scene, work together to improve your personal estates and even hide gifts on your friends’ game boards. The game will be launched soon on Facebook.
Zynga has also announced the next installment in the “Ville” franchise. “CastleVille” will transport you to a medieval world complete with an engaging storyline and new characters. Zynga has built on the foundations it created with the likes of “CityVille” and “FarmVille” to improve on the key elements of previous games in the franchise.
In “CastleVille,” you’ll have the chance to build and manage your own kingdom and explore the world. You can team up with your friends to craft rare items, trade in the markets and battle the monsters that appear beyond the castle walls. Interesting fact: the soundtrack for “CastleVille” was recorded with a 75-piece orchestra and a full choir.
Given that “CityVille” has a strong retention rate of those who had played the previous game in the series, we can probably expect “CastleVille” to have a lot of players when it launches on Facebook soon.
Meanwhile, Zynga has announced that “Mafia Wars 2” is now available to play on Google+. The social network added social games to its platform in June and featured Zynga title “Zynga Poker” at launch. Zynga launched “CityVille” on Google+ last month.
Zynga additionally revealed details of its Project Z social gaming platform at Zynga Unleashed, along with details of new mobile versions of “Zynga Poker,” “FarmVille” and “Words With Friends.” The company will also be launching a new mobile game, “Dream Zoo,” in the near future.
