Facebook-owned Group Messaging App Beluga To Close Next Month
Beluga, the group messaging app that Facebook acquired earlier this year, will cease operations next month. From Nov. 11, you’ll no longer be able to send messages through Beluga.
While Beluga’s key functionality will end on Nov. 11, you’ll still be able to access your old messages through the Beluga app and website. If you choose, you can download an archive of your pods. However, you’ll only have until Dec. 15 to do this as the service will shut down completely on that date and you’ll no longer be able to access your old messages or pods.
That Facebook is shutting down Beluga should not come as too much of a surprise as the social network has launched its dedicated Messenger app on iOS and Android devices, which has a lot of the same features as Beluga and was built by the same team. Since its launch in August, Messenger has added support for several other languages and launched on the BlackBerry platform.
Ive been hearing recently that facebook is owned by the government
especially after they’ve got the newsfeed and other recent adds on
facebook.
