L Word star Leisha Hailey caused quite an uproar on Twitter when the actress was booted from a Southwest Airlines flight after a flight attendant caught her kissing her girlfriend and believed it to be against Southwest Airlines’ family image. Of course, this lead to a heated argument that crossed over into Twitter territory.

Leisha Hailey is an avid Twitter user so almost immediately the actress took to her account to slam the airline calling them “homophobic” and asking her followers to boycott the company saying, “This is an outrage. I demand a public apology by @SouthwestAir and a refund. Hate is not a family value. I will never fly this airline.”

She tweeted:

Next Media Animation, who are pretty spot on at creating current animations about social media mishaps (did you see the one about the recent Facebook update?), made this video about Hailey’s experience. It does make one very good point, that while Hailey might have been booted off for kissing her girlfriend — which certainly is frustrating — stars like Green Day’s Billy Joel Armstrong and Kevin Smith, who directed Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, also have been kicked off of Southwest Airline flights.
