Inkstagram Lets You Create Public Instagram Profile, Share Photos More Easily
Inkstagram, a third-party Web interface for photo-sharing service Instagram, has launched a new feature that allows you to create a public profile and share your photos more easily with your family and friends who may not be using Instagram.
Creating a public profile allows you to let your family and friends see all of your Instagram photos in a slideshow and grid viewer, rather than having to share individual photos with your family and friends through Facebook, Twitter and other social services from Instagram itself.
To set up a public profile on Inkstagram, you will have to connect your Instagram account, and then make sure that Public Profile Publishing is switched on in the settings. You can then share your public profile with family and friends directly using Facebook, Twitter, email or any other platform. You can find these sharing options by clicking on one of your photos in the My Photos section of Inkstagram.
Instagram, of course, does not have a native Web interface that allows you to share all of your photos with your family and friends. You can share individual photos with them, but you cannot set up a public Web profile using Instagram. However, Inkstagram’s new feature lets you share your photos with your family and friends more easily by bringing all of your photos together.
It should be noted that, in an interview last week, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom stated that the lack of a native Web experience is something that he plans on addressing in the near future, so Inkstagram’s new feature may be nullified by Instagram itself. Meanwhile, there are competing services which offer similar functionality such as Keepsy (by creating a virtual or real-life photo album of your photos) and Webstagram.
Statigram has had a public url feature for a while now that allows the same thing as well as the ability to view some stats. Big fan of statigram and instagram me!!
