A new topical Facebook scam is spreading quickly on the social network. This time, the scam claims to link to a video of Casey Anthony making a confession to her lawyer about murdering her daughter.

Earlier this month, Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. Many people following the trial were shocked at the verdict.

If you see a post that looks similar to this in your News Feed, you should avoid clicking on it as it will most likely lead you to a scam page:

If you do click on this Wall post, you will see a screen that looks like this:

If you click the “Jaa” button, a pop-up will prompt you to share the scam link with your friends on Facebook. Once you have done this, you will be taken to a page that looks similar to the YouTube homepage, but you will be prompted to complete a survey.

We advise that you do not complete any surveys that prompt you to complete them in order to unlock any content online. Surveys such as these are often used to install malware on your computer or find out your personal information that may be used in identity theft, in addition to earning commissions for the scammers.

If you have been affected by this scam, we would suggest that you clean up your Facebook profile by finding the post that has been shared on your Wall through the scam, clicking the “x” and marking the post as spam.
