Tagged Acquires Instant Messaging Client Digsby
Tagged has acquired social instant messaging client Digsby for an undisclosed sum. The deal means that Tagged has picked up both the talent and assets of Digsby.
The Digsby team will be moving into the Tagged offices in San Francisco later this month and will be helping to develop new products at Tagged, which will focus on real-time communication. Digsby will continue to operate as a standalone product.
Digsby allows users to manage all of their IM contacts, email and social networking accounts from a single application, making it easy to monitor and engage with friends on Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, MSN and others all at the same time. Websites can also integrate an embeddable Digsby widget.
Tagged last week unveiled a new mobile site, along with updated iPhone and Android apps. The social network has more than 100 million registered users all over the world.
